The star of the show is ASAP Tent and Party Rental’s Ghost Acrylic Lectern Podium. This photo was taken this morning with Paul Colandra at a press conference put on by the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

Party Rentals, Tent Rentals and event planning expertise were supplied by ASAP Tent and Party Rentals. The clear acrylic “Ghost Lectern” was a perfect touch at Love Mountain. From some seats the podium was nearly invisible letting the beauty of the natural surroundings shine through.

The staging was done with ASAP’s new Axxis stage deck and we supplied and set up the wireless microphone. The wireless microphone is perfect with the clear acrylic podium because there are no wires or other distractions. The system worked flawlessly despite a pair of dogs ripping out the power cables as the complete system can work from the internal batteries.

Party Rental deliveries are now available on Saturday and Sunday.

Starting March 1st, ASAP Tent and Party Rentals started offering weekend delivery. There will be a small surcharge over our regular weekday delivery rates but the combined price is still less than some of our competitors charge for normal delivery.

As well as regular weekend delivery we will also be doing trial evening deliveries. Please note that there may be some limitations on delivery size as we are using a smaller weekend delivery truck. Call for details.

Tips to Make Your Dinner Party Rock #1

This is the first of a series on How To Make Your Dinner Party Rock

As spring approaches everyone is gearing up for entertaining. ASAP Tent and Party Rentals is gearing up to make it easy and stress free.

Tip #1 The Cocktails:

Make certain all guests have a cocktail or drink with or without alcohol soon after arrival. A shy guest will feel more comfortable with something in hand. Hire a bartender if the budget is available. With more than a dozen or so guests this will free up the host and make the event more enjoyable and stress free. It will also help the guests feel more relaxed. If you forgo the bartender try a less ambitious cocktail menu and a smaller variety of drinks.

For a dinner party serve within 90 minutes to avoid over served guests.

Serving portions are always a great concern. Alcohol consumption has been dropping in recent years due to better appreciation of the consequenses of drinking and driving. Guides vary from 1 to 2 drinks per hour. The average person drinking 2 per hour will not be able to drive.

In Ontario any left over liquor can be returned to the LCBO

After last weekends stage and acrylic lectern rentals we worked out the bugs. The issue of course was to have a nearly invisible lectern for the presenter but how do we deal with the microphone?

Well last weekend at The Toronto Hunt, a lavalier microphone was attached to the cupholder.

As  a backup we can supply a wireless lavalier microphone for the presenter with a handheld wireless microphone for a guest speaker.

Another option of course is to use a microphone stand. This photo taken at the press conference at the city of Vaughan Tuesday January 29, 2013.

This photo is a great example showing a stage deck with stairs, a microphone and a portable PA system.

With the clear acrylic lectern the microphone stand is nearly invisible and does not detract from the presenter.
